CPSC Enforcement Procedures at Import and eFiling Initiative

Compliance Investigator Al Orozco will provide an overview of CPSC’s enforcement procedures at imports, covering CPSC regulations and examinations. eFiling Program Specialist Arthur Laciak will then provide an overview of CPSC’s development of a new PGA Message Set with recent updates.

Speakers

Al Orozco is a newly acquired, Compliance Investigator for the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Before joining CPSC, Al had served his country with over 25 years of combined Federal Service. Most recently, 15 years with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as a Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) at the port of Los Angeles, Long Beach California. Al started his federal career in the US Air Force, where he spent 6 years as a Security Policeman and served a tour in Operation Desert Storm. After 9/11, Al joined the recently created Transportation Security Administration (TSA) where he assisted in the establishment & implementation of revamped security protocol at LAX.  

Arthur Laciak is the eFiling Program Specialist in the Office of Import Surveillance at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). In this role, he is leading an initiative to develop a Partner Government Agency (PGA) Message Set that will collect certificate data at the time of import. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Mathematics, and German from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Public Policy from the George Washington University.
