The Los Angeles Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association is the premier organization in Southern California for International Trade, representing common business interests of Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders as professionals in dealing with government, carriers, industry and one another.


Transmission of all remaining electronic portions of the CBP cargo process will be required in ACE, January 2017.
This requirement includes:

  • Duty Deferrals
  • Drawback
  • Reconciliation
  • Statements (with associated collections functions)
  • Liquidation

LACBFFA is partnering with GISTnet to provide internet-based industry specific training courses and educational support to professionals and staff engaged in international trade, cargo transportation and logistics.  GISTnet’s primary focus is on the support and career development needs of transportation intermediaries (freight forwarders, customs brokers, indirect carriers and third-party logistics providers), including both technical training and key business skills such as customer service and supervision.  GISTnet’s library and training courses are also of interest to shippers, importers and exporters.  The courses are available on a fee-per-use basis, with significant discounts for LACBFFA members.  For further information on LACBFFA’s partnership with GISTnet and the courses offered click the RESOURCES link above.
